“As for the big recovery, the World Bank estimates that as of June 1, 2022, Russia has caused damage and destruction to Ukraine worth $350 billion, which is the amount needed for recovery. As of the beginning of 2023, this amount may reach $600 to $750 billion,” emphasized the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Denys Shmyhal added that the main source of funding for the reconstruction of Ukraine should be confiscated Russian assets because Russia must pay for the destruction.

Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said during the World Economic Forum in Davos that Ukraine’s post-war recovery program will be the largest reconstruction project since World War II.
