The head of the Ukrainian government Denys Shmygal stated that the number of civilian casualties as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine is ten times higher than the casualties among the Ukrainian military.

The number of civilian casualties is ten times higher than among the military. This proves that the Russian army and Russia are at war with the civilian population of Ukraine, not with our Armed Forces, “Shmygal stressed.
As of May 13, the United Nations had registered 3,573 deaths and 3,816 wounded civilians. On May 11, the figure was 3,541 and 3,785, respectively. The highest number of deaths was in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions: 1,919 civilians, of which 1,802 were in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
It should be noted that due to the difficulty in counting the victims, their number may be much higher.
As of May 27, more than 679 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of a full-scale Russian war against Ukraine. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 241 children were killed and more than 438 children were injured.
