Russia damaged sunflower oil tanks in Ukraine’s southern city by kamikaze drones

Dmytro Pletenchuk, the press officer of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration said that Russian troops attacked the sunflower oil containers of one of the leading exporters of sunflower oil in Mykolaiv (south of Ukraine) by Iranian-made kamikaze drones on October 17, 2022. Sunflower oil flows through the streets of the city.

“17% of the global export of these products passed through this terminal in the city of Mykolaiv. Russia continues the policy of aggression against the whole world, inflicting similar blows on the civilian infrastructure of the agrarian sector of Ukraine’s economy,” emphasized the press officer of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

The drone attacks damaged two sunflower oil tanks with a capacity of seven and a half thousand tons each on the territory of the Zavodskyi district enterprise.

“A fire broke out, which was quickly extinguished by the employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. However, the tanks themselves are damaged – sunflower oil is pouring out of them. The liquid is flowing down the streets,” noted the local journalists of Mykolaiv.
