“The calculation of damages caused to the ecosystem of Ukraine as a result of emissions of pollutants or mixtures of such substances into the atmospheric air in 13 districts of Luhansk region was carried out. The amount of damages is UAH 98.7 billion.”

She noted that the number of damages would increase.

“The experts of the Operational Headquarters have not yet had the opportunity to conduct a full inspection and take the necessary samples, and obtain documents or additional satellite observation data of the many recorded cases containing signs of eco-crimes.”

According to her, this primarily concerns the occupied territories and war zones.

“After the de-occupation of these territories, the work to record Russia’s crimes in such territories will continue. Ukraine needs to collect data as efficiently as possible because they will become the evidence base in international courts in the future, within the framework of which Russia will be held accountable for all crimes.”
