Russia caused damage to the road infrastructure of the Kharkiv region for more that $1B

The First Deputy Head of the State Agency of Highways of Ukraine noted on September 28, 2022, that the amount of damage to the road infrastructure in the Kharkiv region (east of Ukraine), as a result of Russian aggression was UAH 46 billion (more than $1 billion). 25 billion is the amount of damage caused in liberated Ukrainian territories of the region.

“We have been inspecting the territories of the Kharkiv region freed from Russian troops together with bomb disposal experts since September 2022. According to a preliminary estimate, the amount of damage caused by Russian military aggression to the road infrastructure of state importance in the Kharkiv region amounts to UAH 46 billion.”

Andriy Ivko added that currently, the service continues to restore the region from the consequences of hostilities. In particular, it works on routes that are extremely important for the fastest possible adjustment of logistics in the region.

“Our task is to quickly ensure the delivery of medicines and food to our citizens who were under occupation. First of all, we are creating corridors for rescuers and utility workers.”

Road workers have already cleaned 198 km of roads of state importance, and also started the restoration of 3 bridges in the liberated Kharkiv region.
