Russia attacked energy facilities: dozens of Ukrainian cities are without electricity

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko noted that explosions as a result of a Russian missile attack were recorded in various regions of Ukraine on November 23, 2022. In particular, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Sumy, Rivne, Poltava, Odesa, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, as well as several regions of neighbouring Moldova have no electricity supply.

“Russian troops are trying to destroy Ukraine’s energy supply facilities. Today, explosions were recorded in various regions of the country,” explained the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Russian troops launched two missile strikes at an electrical substation in the Lviv region (western Ukraine). As a result, 3 districts of the region have no electricity supply.

The mayor of Lviv noted that there was no electricity supply throughout Lviv.

The city of Khmelnytskyi in the west of Ukraine was also completely de-energized, there is no voltage in most communities of the region.

The Vinnytsia region (central Ukraine) was also under Russian missile attack.

“The Vinnytsia region is under Russian shelling – objects of critical infrastructure,” noted the head of the  Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration Serhiy Borzov.

Russia also launched the rocket attack on the energy facility in the Kirovohrad region (central Ukraine).

In addition, emergency power cuts will be applied throughout Ukraine due to Russian missile attacks on the energy facilities.
