Rada strips Member of Parliament, oligarch Novinsky of immunity

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has given consent to criminal prosecution of Opposition Bloc Member of Parliament, oligarch Vadym Novinsky.

The decision was supported by 228 MPs.

Novinsky himself was present during the voting at the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada.

On December 7, Novinsky assured that he was not going to leave the country in case he was stripped of immunity.

On November 16, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko made a statement while addressing the Rada procedural committee members to submit a PGO request on stripping MP Vadym Novinsky of parliamentary immunity.
