Protests against mobilization in Russia: attacks on military commissariats, murders of military commissars, mass riots

Russians are protesting massively against the mobilization announced by the Russian President on September 21, 2022. There are arsons of military commissariats and even murders of local military commissars in different parts of Russia.

For example, military commissariats were on fire in the Kaliningrad and Leningrad regions of Russia, as well as in Mordovia on September 25, 2022.

The military commissariat was on fire by hanging a fuel canister on the window bar in the city of Kirovsk, Leningrad region. An office with an area of about ten square meters caught fire, the fire was extinguished by the night watchman. A guilty has not yet been caught.

A “Molotov cocktail” was thrown at the military commissariat in Chernyakhovsk, Kaliningrad region.

Also, the military commissariat in the city of Ruzaivka in Mordovia was on fire after two “Molotov cocktails” were thrown into the building’s window.

In addition, it became known that the administration building near Gatchina in the Leningrad region was on fire. “Molotov cocktails” were also thrown there. The area of the fire was 50 square meters, there were no casualties.

A conscript in the city of Ust-Ilimsk, Irkutsk region, was so inspired by the idea of killing that he decided to start on the spot – he shot the head of the conscription commission.

The military commissar died on the way to intensive care. Local mass media also report that there are injured.

The shooter has already been detained. He turned out to be 25-year-old unemployed Ruslan Zinin. He did not have a weapon permit, and his rifle is missing from the base.

Protests against mobilization broke out in Dagestan, the police started shooting. Actions against mobilization, arrests and clashes with the police are taking place in Makhachkala (the capital of Dagestan, Russian Federation), shots are heard, and protesters are trying to fight off the detainees.

Protesters shout “No war!” and “Our children are not fertilizer”, argue with the police and beat the detainees away from them.

The police detained more than a hundred protesters at anti-mobilization actions as of September 25, 2022. In general, more than two thousand people were detained in Russian cities, the most on September 21 – more than 1,300 people.
