“Prosecutor Khan carefully examines all crime scenes and asks important professional questions to our prosecutors. On the front of justice, we are side by side with him: in an independent investigation by the ICC Prosecutor’s Office, the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office is actively assisting The Hague. At the same time, we are working together as part of the Joint Investigation Team on the Eurojust platform, which was joined by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court for the first time in its history.”

During the ICC prosecutor’s third visit to Ukraine, he visited the worst-hit district of Kharkiv, where 9 people were killed and 17 injured on May 26.

Prosecutors gather crucial evidence and testimonies under fire to intensify the investigation of war crimes. The first verdicts have already been handed down to the Russian military, which fired artillery shells at civilian targets in the region.
