Ukraine should hold early elections of local governments after the parliamentary elections.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a press conference, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Increasing the authority (of the local government – Ed.) must be accompanied by early elections so that the local communities were able to elect to the local government those, who will be able to use those rights,” Poroshenko said.
The President said that he would not hesitate to hold early elections of deputies to local councils and will sign the relevant law, as soon as it is adopted by the new composition of the Ukrainian parliament.
