Over the two years of war, Ukraine has proven to the world that the enemy is stopped not only by the force of arms, but also by the spiritual strength and unity of the Ukrainian people, said Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, according to an UNIAN correspondent reporting from a Prayer for Peace ceremony held in Kyiv`s St.Volodymyr Hill.
”Over the two years of the Patriotic War for our independence, we have proved to the world that the enemy can be stopped not only with the force of arms of the Ukrainian fighters, but also with the spiritual power and unity of the Ukrainian people,” the president said.
”In the severe tests of strength of our Homeland, a very powerful national movement of volunteers was born. I am sure that there is another movement which we have now –military chaplains,” Petro Poroshenko said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 8 during the First Minute of Peace ceremony on a Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, Poroshenko said: ”We try to minimize the impact of war on the life of every Ukrainian The only thing I cannot promise is that there will be no mobilization this year. Its prospects and scale depend not only on our plans, but also on the situation at the front line.”
