Poroshenko to Russia: Pull back troops and close border

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called on Russia to withdraw its troops from Donbas and close the border with Ukraine.
He said this on Thursday at a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Channel 5 reported.
“Please withdraw your troops from my territory. Close the border. And I promise that if you close the border, peace and stability will reign in Ukraine within one, two or three weeks. It’s very simple,” Poroshenko said.
He also said that Ukraine was waging a war not only for its independence and territorial integrity. “We are waging a war for freedom, democracy and peace. The whole civilized world, the European Union, Australia, Canada, the United States and Japan stand together with Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.
