Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will attend a ceremony to hoist the national flag of Ukraine on Saturday, the press service of the head of state has reported.
“On Saturday, August 23, at 09.00, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will take part in the ceremony of raising the national flag of Ukraine (Sofiyska Square),” reads the statement.
The event will be broadcast live by the National Television Company of Ukraine.
As Ukrinform reported, the Ukrainian president earlier called on citizens, ahead of the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine and Ukraine’s Independence Day, to pay tribute to the national colors in designing their cars, homes, etc.
The Day of the State Flag of Ukraine is a national holiday in Ukraine, which is celebrated on August 23.
