Poroshenko, Merkel, Hollande call on Kremlin to immediately release Savchenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande called on the Russian leadership to immediately release illegally convicted Ukrainian pilot, MP and member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Nadia Savchenko, the president`s press service reported.
”Speaking by phone, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande drew attention to the deteriorating health of Nadia Savchenko and called on the Russian leadership to immediately release her as provided by Minsk agreements,” the report says.
Among other things, the parties discussed the terms of a visa-free regime for Ukrainians and the results of the Dutch referendum.
As UaPosition reported earlier, on March 22, Donetsk city court of the Rostov region (Russia) sentenced Savchenko to 22 years in prison for the alleged murder of two Russian journalists.
After the verdict, Nadia Savchenko said she would not appeal, and from April 6, she resumed a hunger strike, demanding her return to Ukraine.
