Some Ukrainian fans who were detained after yesterday’s match in Belarus have been released after the intervention of the Ukrainian president.
Ukrainian presidential press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko reported this on his Facebook page.
“The Ukrainian president instructed the Foreign Ministry to urgently provide consular protection for the immediate release and return home of all Ukrainians detained in Belarus. According to the Foreign Ministry, three of the 15 detainees have already been released,” he wrote.
As reported, after a qualifying match of the Euro 2016 European Football Championship between Ukraine and Belarus Minsk in Borisov, Minsk region, security forces detained many fans. They face trial for foul language.
