“We are systematically preparing for this. We have a very flexible system, created together with the self-government and responsible bodies,” assured Przemysław Charnek.

According to him, possible problems can appear in large cities such as Warsaw or Krakow, where there are possible situations when too many people turn to the director of one school with a request to accept children.

“Then we will offer other schools where it will probably be possible to accept Ukrainian children,” explained the head of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Charnek noted that according to the ministry’s data, there are about 700-800 thousand Ukrainian school-aged children in Poland. The minister added that about 500-600 thousand of them study remotely in their Ukrainian schools.

It should be noted that European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Ylva Johansson explained that Ukrainian children will have to go to school at the beginning of the school year in the EU country where they settled.
