NSDC urges Russia to do away with militants, pull back troops

The National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NSDC) demands that Russia stop heating up terrorists in the east and remove its army from the border, NSDC information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
“We once again strongly urge the Russian side to immediately stop such criminal acts directed against the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, to withdraw troops from the border with Ukraine and to join efforts of our state and the international community to stabilize the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” he said.
According to Lysenko, Russian secret services continue to provide support to terrorists of the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic” and “Luhansk People’s Republic”, and to send militants and mercenaries to Ukraine to destabilize the situation. “Military operations against Ukraine and its people are being conducted with Russian weapons and involving Russian citizens,” he emphasized.
