“Instructors of the Norwegian Home Guard Heimevernet will train one hundred servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in military medicine, fire training and team leadership during four intensive weeks,” reported the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is the first of several courses where Norwegian instructors of the Home Guard will train Ukrainians in Norway.

Colonel Jens, who recruited instructors and prepared everything necessary for training, said that Ukrainian soldiers will have the opportunity to meet with professional and qualified instructors from the Home Guard and the Armed Forces of Norway, who will provide them with quality training.

“We will support the training and education of Ukrainian personnel both in Norway and in other countries. Such support will become increasingly important as Ukraine uses more and more Western materials. It will also extend and increase Ukraine’s advantage over Russia when it comes to sending well-motivated and well-trained troops to the battlefield,” says Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.
