New government in Ukraine will focus on European reforms – Sych

The main objective of Ukrainian authorities, including the new parliament after the elections next month, and local governments will be to implement European reforms in Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Sych at a round table in Washington on the projected priorities for the next convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We are working hard in Ukraine to reform the state and public life of the country, so that development took place on a democratic, civilized basis in the direction of Europe,” said the official.
He stressed that the ratified Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU should become the basis for these reforms in all spheres of public administration. However, as noted Sych, the emphasis will be on minimizing bureaucracy in the government.
At the same time, he said that internal development, combating corruption, reforming the state management system, foreign policy priorities, and all the complex problems associated with the present stage of development of the Ukrainian state, remain the pressing issues.
Deputy Prime Minister stressed that in the war situation, it is extremely difficult to carry out reforms, but it is necessary to mobilize all available resources for this. Sych also expressed hope that Ukraine will be supported in this regard by the civilized world community.
