More than a thousand people passed through Russian torture prisons in Ukraine’s south

“More than a thousand people have already passed through these torture prisons, according to modest estimates,” Orlov noted.

According to him, some of those who were eventually released by the invaders have gunshot wounds, while others have injuries to various parts of the body from traumatic weapons. There are several torture chambers in Energodar itself and outside the city, where psychological and physical pressure is exerted on kidnapped Ukrainians. They kidnap, as a rule, people with a pro-Ukrainian position or administrative and management personnel of the city and the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, whom they want to persuade to cooperate.

Currently, according to the mayor, the invaders are holding up to a hundred hostages. However, it is impossible to establish the exact number of abducted people, as their relatives do not always report it for fear of further harm.
