More than 5,000 houses were destroyed in Kharkiv due to Russian shelling

The mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov noted on February 26, 2023, that Russian troops destroyed more than 5,000 houses in Kharkiv (a city in the east of Ukraine), and 500 of them can not be restored.

“Russian soldiers caused us a lot of destruction. More than 5,000 houses have been destroyed. 500 of them cannot be restored at all. Today, 150,000 Kharkiv residents are homeless,” explained the mayor of Kharkiv.

Ihor Terekhov also noted that the city provides dormitories to those residents of Kharkiv who are left without housing.

According to the mayor of Kharkiv, 136 houses were rebuilt in 2022, and 66 of them were severely damaged.

Earlier, Ihor Terekhov said that in Kharkiv they are already working on restoring the city. According to him, work on the creation of a new general plan of Kharkiv is being conducted with the fund of the British architect Norman Foster.

Russian troops shell Kharkiv and the region almost every day, for example, they shelled Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region on February 25, 2023. As a result of the attack, a pensioner was injured and houses were damaged.
