“We have verified more than 12,000 children, of which about 8,600 were forcibly deported to the territory of the Russian Federation. As the Commissioner for Human Rights, together with law enforcement agencies and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, we know where a particular child was deported from, where and in what status he lived on the territory of Ukraine, where he is now on the territory of the Russian Federation, what actions are taken against him by the Russian authorities. We open criminal proceedings in each case. I can only speak about verified, confirmed figures,” explained the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
