Ministry of Social Policy says almost 840,000 persons displaced from Donbas and Crimea

The number of internally displaced persons from Donbas and Crimea has reached 838,300 people.
Minister of Social Policy Pavlo Rozenko has said this, the Ministry of Social Policy’s press service reported.
“According to the departments for social protection of population, 838,300 internally displaced persons from Donbas and Crimea have been registered as of January 5, 2015,” Rozenko said.
A total of 176,500 families have received monthly targeted assistance to cover living expenses worth UAH 358.4 million.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has extended the period of registration of internally displaced persons from the anti-terrorist operation area and occupied Crimea until February 1, 2015.
This period applies only to those persons who were assigned the appropriate social benefits before October 1, 2014, when the Cabinet of Ministers adopted resolution No. 509, and who were not registered in the regional departments of social protection. With regard to other people who come now and will come in the future from Donbas and Crimea, there are no restrictions on their registration.
