Ukraine was represented at the event by Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin and Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Maliuska.

“Putin’s arrest warrant proved that the International Criminal Court and the Office of Prosecutor Karim Khan stand uncompromisingly on the guard of justice. Today’s meeting is another proof that justice is our common fundamental value, and we will not allow impunity for international crimes,” Andriy Kostin emphasized during his speech.

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine thanked the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Justice of Great Britain, Dominic Raab, and the UK Attorney General Victoria Prentis, for their steadfast support of Ukraine. He also expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Justice and Security of the Netherlands, Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius, for facilitating the work of the ICC and providing expert support.

Andriy Kostin expressed his conviction that the destruction of Ukraine and Ukrainian identity is a purposeful strategy of the Russian Federation. And the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children is part of this strategy. In addition, Russia daily uses means and methods of warfare prohibited by international law.

The Prosecutor General also met in London with the European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders — they talked about the priority areas of cooperation, in particular, the strengthening of the joint investigative team regarding the investigation of Russian war crimes in Ukraine.

“Priorities and next steps of cooperation were discussed,” added Andriy Kostin.
