MFA: No Ukrainian among China earthquake victims

According to preliminary reports, no Ukrainian citizen has suffered as a result of the earthquake that occurred on Sunday in the southwest of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press office told Ukrinform on Tuesday.
“According to the Embassy of Ukraine in China, as of yesterday evening there were no Ukrainians among the dead,” a source said.
Euronews said that according to the latest reports, the number of deaths due to the earthquake in China has risen to 410, nearly 3,000 have been injure. 230,000 people have been evacuated from the disaster area. 80,000 of homes have been completely destroyed.
The earthquake of magnitude 6.5 rocked China’s Yunnan Province on Sunday at 16.30 local time. Its center laid at a depth of 10 km. The epicenter was near the city of Zhaotong.
In Yunnan Province, it is the most powerful earthquake in 14 years.
