Luhansk to be liberated from north – National Security and Defense Council

Terrorists still control a larger part of Luhansk, whereas Ukrainian military have consolidated their positions in the north of the city, where they will continue its liberation.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“A greater part of the city is still controlled by militants. Our military have consolidated their positions in the northern district, and there they will continue to attack the city and liberate its territory,” he said.
Lysenko also said that positional battles were underway on the outskirts of another regional center – Donetsk – because there are many armed vehicles and other forces of separatist fighters in the city.
