Local budgets owe more than UAH 30 billion to treasury – Sliuz

Local budgets borrowed from the State Treasury of Ukraine short-term loans at UAH 21 billion in January-July 2014, without repaying the medium-term loans at UAH 9.5 billion.
Head of the State Treasury Tetiana Sliuz told a briefing Thursday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Short-term loans, issued by the State Treasury, are issued within the frames of the budget year. Over seven months of this year, such loans were issued at over UAH 21 billion. There were no debts on this type of loans in previous years, but we and the Finance Ministry are concerned with the situation that has formed with the return of medium-term loans. Unfortunately, such debt of local budgets to the SingleTreasury Account is UAH 9.5 billion,” Sliuz said.
Indebtedness on medium-term loans has accumulated over previous four years, she noted.
