The deputy head of the National Police of Ukraine, the head of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine noted on March 15, 2023, that the largest mass burials of Ukrainian citizens killed by Russian troops during the full-scale war were discovered in the Kharkiv region, namely in Izium (east of Ukraine), and in the Kyiv region.

“The largest mass burials were found in Izium in the Kharkiv region, where 941 people were killed, and in the Kyiv region, where the bodies of 1,374 people were found,” informed the deputy head of the National Police of Ukraine.
Maksym Tsutskiridze also noted that work on documenting Russia’s war crimes continues, and the collected evidence will help bring those guilty of their commitment to justice in Ukrainian and international courts.
Earlier, the Chief of the Police of the Kyiv region, Andriy Nebytov, said that 199 bodies of Ukrainians killed during active hostilities remain unidentified in the Kyiv region.
