The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko noted on February 8, 2023, that Ukraine received humanitarian aid from Japan in the form of 259 generators and components from December 2022 to February 2023.

“Russian troops continue to target Ukrainian energy facilities throughout the country. Thanks to the help of our international partners, we carry out restoration work, ensure the operation of energy enterprises, and continue to hold the Ukrainian energy front,” noted the Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
The generators provided by Japan will be distributed among the enterprises of the coal, gas extraction, gas transport industries, the electric power sector, as well as the heating and communal energy enterprises of different regions of Ukraine.
“Thank you to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Nippon Foundation for the assistance provided. This is a contribution to Ukraine’s energy security and the stability of our energy sector,” Herman Halushchenko emphasized.
