Italy will provide Ukraine with €2M and equipment for demining of territories

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy during a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyi on August 26, 2022, said about the aid package to Ukraine, which will include, in particular, 2 million euros for humanitarian demining in the de-occupied territories.

Italy will assist in the reconstruction of Ukraine at the state and local levels. It was decided to provide 2 million euros of aid to Ukraine. In addition, part of the demining equipment will arrive to Ukrainian specialists soon.

The Minister said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, had signed an agreement with Italian city councils. Many Italian large and small cities have signed memoranda of cooperation with Ukrainian cities.

“This is a brotherhood between cities that were born either before the war or during it. And we want to use this channel to work towards the recovery of Ukraine. Starting today, Italy, both at the highest state level and local levels will be able to join projects for the recovery of Ukraine. Within this project, we have decided to provide 2 million euros, which will send for humanitarian demining.”
