Luigi Di Maio said that Italy was promoting the idea of creating maritime corridors for food exports from Ukraine through Ukrainian ports, especially wheat.
“Italy has already expressed its readiness to participate in demining operations and seeks a central role for the UN, and possibly other partners, such as Turkey, for the effective development and coordination of operations,” said the Italian Foreign Minister.
“The first initiative one could begin to explore is to see whether a cooperation between Russia and Ukraine to unblock Black Sea ports could be built,” Prime Minister of Italy added.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine was working to organize an operation under the auspices of the United Nations and with the participation of partner fleets to create a safe maritime corridor for Ukrainian grain.
