Lithuania will transfer air defense systems and anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine

The President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda noted on January 11, 2023, during his meeting with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the President of Poland Andrzej Duda in Lviv, that Lithuania would provide Ukraine with air defense systems and anti-aircraft systems of certain types.

“Today I brought good news for Ukraine – we are handing over air defense systems and certain anti-aircraft installations that should help you in the fight [against Russian aggression – ed.],” Gitanas Nauseda said.

The President of Lithuania added that there are political disputes in Lithuania on various issues, but there have never been any discussions about supporting Ukraine.

“All political parties fully agree that the aid should be maximal, and the victory [of Ukraine – ed.] should be as quick as possible,” the President of Lithuania noted.

The President of Ukraine thanked his Lithuanian colleague for such help.

“Lithuania provides anti-aircraft systems to our country – the weapons we need to protect ourselves from Iranian drones – to protect our energy sector. I thank Gitanas for another demonstration of unwavering and principled support for Ukraine – which began even before February 24 and will continue until our victory,” wrote Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
