IMF mission completes work in Kyiv this week

An International Monetary Fund mission that has been in Kyiv since May 16 is to complete its work this week, according to Acting Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakiv Smolii.

”The mission of the International Monetary Fund is completing its work in Ukraine this week,” he told reporters on Thursday, May 25.

Smolii recalled that the four key areas where the mission is interacting with the Ukrainian authorities include the pension reform, land reform, anti-corruption efforts, and the strategy for the state-owned banks.

In his words, Ukraine expects to receive US$4.5 billion this year and over US$3 billion next year under the IMF`s Extended Fund Facility program.
