IMF can combine three tranches and increase aid – Hontareva

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) can combine three financial tranches to Ukraine and even increase their amount.
National Bank governor Valeria Hontareva said this at a briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Today, we have a program allocating $17 billion [to Ukraine], and only $4 billion of these funds has already been used. We still have another $15.5 billion for the next year. The IMF has not stated the exact amount… Regarding the tranches, we could have already received three tranches if we kept up with the program. I think they at least will be combined. And if there is an increase in the program, I hope that we can get even more [funds],” she said.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the state budget in the early hours of December 29, as Ukraine was to provide the IMF mission with macro-indicators to get international financial assistance.
