“I met the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy today in Zaporizhziya City & had a rich exchange on the protection of the Zaporizhzhya NPP and its staff. I reiterated the full support of the IAEA to Ukraine’s nuclear facilities,” tweeted Rafael Grossi.

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency also visited the Dnipro (Dnieper) Hydroelectric Station together with the President of Ukraine.

“The Dnieper hydroelectric station is an essential part of the system that sustains the nuclear safety of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. The President of Ukraine showed me the recent damage suffered by the dam,” added the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Earlier, the IAEA expressed concern about the situation at the Russian-occupied ZNPP, where the last back up power line was disabled.
