“When we talk about destroyed or damaged housing, then 2.5 million such people is a large number. When we talk about completely destroyed housing, what is currently in the register [register of damaged and destroyed property – ed.], – that’s 170,000 people. And that’s not taking into account the temporarily occupied territories, where we still can’t count the destroyed housing,” explained the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories.
Iryna Vereshchuk added that today 200,000 citizens live in compact housing in Ukraine. According to the official, there are sufficient opportunities in Ukraine to provide temporary housing to evacuees. In particular, 25 modular towns have been built today, where about 5 thousand people live.
