Groysman orders probe into Danylyuk`s offshore companies

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has instructed law enforcement agencies to investigate the accusations against Finance Minister Oleksandr Danylyuk regarding his offshore companies.
”I think that the Minister should give explanations for everything that has been done in previous years [before the appointment]. If the answer means he is breaking the law, the Minister will take his decision. But I would like the NAPC (the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption) to look into this matter in details. The question is not about the dismissal, but if there are violations, he must bear responsibility,” Groysman said during the parliament`s hour of questions to the government on Friday.
Meanwhile, Danylyuk said that he had already explained everything and had no time to deal with the companies. The Minister said that he had already instructed lawyers to resolve the issue.
”I have already given my explanations. I instructed the lawyers to deal with the situation, because I do not have time for this. I will respond to this request,” he said.
According to Danylyuk, his current priority is to restore cooperation with Ukraine`s key creditor, the International Monetary Fund, as well as reform the State Fiscal Service.
