Greece has started the transfer of infantry fighting vehicles BMP-1 to Ukraine

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, announced the beginning of the transfer of Greek infantry fighting vehicles BMP-1 to Ukraine. He stated this after negotiations with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Nikos Dendias, during a joint press conference in Kyiv on October 19, 2022.

“We especially appreciate the weapons that Greece is transferring to Ukraine so that we can defend our land. And it is very important that the long-awaited shipment of BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles from Greece to Ukraine has already begun. They will soon be transferred to our army and instantly strengthen the combat capability and defense capability of Ukraine. We are very grateful to Greece for this help,” said Dmytro Kuleba.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also raised the issue of continuing cooperation with Greece in defense area and noted that the strengthening air defense of Ukraine would be a priority.

“Greece knows our request and will process it,” added Dmytro Kuleba.
