Germany will provide Ukraine with €112M for housing for internally displaced persons

Jochen Flasbarth, the State Secretary in the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development reported on April 19, 2023, during his visit to Ukraine’s capital, that Germany will allocate 112 million euros to provide assistance to internally displaced persons in Ukraine, in particular providing them with housing.

“During my visit to Ukraine today, I also announced that Germany will allocate 112 million euros this year to provide assistance to internally displaced persons, in particular, to provide them with housing and other services,” said the State Secretary in the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Jochen Flasbarth also informed that during meetings with Ukrainian officials and representatives of civil society, he got a clear idea of the current situation in Ukraine, visited Irpin and Borodianka (cities in the Kyiv region which were under Russian occupation) and met with the mayor of Kyiv.

“We analyzed the needs for the reconstruction of Ukraine, got acquainted with the priorities set by the Ukrainian government and society, and considered what are the most urgent needs of Ukraine. We will now discuss this with our partners and make appropriate decisions,” added the State Secretary in the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
