“Russia’s attacks on civilian infrastructure show that everything must be done to rebuild and protect Ukrainian cities, villages, bridges, streets and railways. Therefore, I am very glad that our anti-aircraft missile complexes and anti-aircraft self-propelled installations, and now IRIS-T are in Ukraine. These systems can protect a large city. Three more such systems [IRIS-T – ed.] will be delivered in the near future,” said the Chancellor of Germany, adding that his country, together with its partners, will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary.
The head of the German government noted that Berlin had already handed over one modern IRIS-T air defense system to Kyiv.
Olaf Scholz also emphasized that Germany was on the side of Ukrainians and would support them from a political, financial, humanitarian and economic point of view.
