3 BIBER armored bridge-laying vehicles were handed over in recent days, 8 surface drones (previously 2 were transferred); 12 border patrol vehicles (65 of them have already been provided in total); 4,000 sleeping bags (in addition to the 10,000 previously handed over), spare parts for Mi-24 helicopters, and 30 ambulances.

In addition, the decision to transfer 7 more “Gepard” anti-aircraft tanks to Ukraine was approved (3 of them were transferred in August) and 100,000 first-aid kits.

“As part of the 2022 budget process, the funds for the upgrading initiative were increased to a total of 2 billion euros for 2022. The additional funds are intended primarily to benefit Ukraine. At the same time, they will be used to finance the increased German compulsory contributions to the European Peace Facility (EPF), which in turn can be used to reimburse the EU member states for the costs of providing support to Ukraine,” noted the German government.
