“If guarantees are needed, then Germany will also be there (among the countries guaranteeing Ukraine’s security) and will give guarantees,” Baerbock said.

The minister admits that the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are not such that a breakthrough could be expected near. According to Baerbock, when the Russian side talks about guarantees or neutrality, they mean something completely different than the Ukrainian side.

“Therefore, we have made it clear that in all areas where we can provide support, so as not to create a threat of transferring this war to other European countries, we provide one hundred percent support. Of course, we do it by looking at peace talks, looking at the future of Ukraine. We are one hundred percent on their side. And when guarantees are needed, Germany will also participate and give guarantees, ” she said.
