German company “Henkel” is selling its assets in Russia and Belarus

On August 16, 2022, it became known that the German company “Henkel”, which produces cosmetics and household chemicals, put up for sale its assets in Russia and Belarus.

According to “Henkel”, the exit from these markets will cost 184 million euros, of which 88 million euros are losses of business reputation. The other part of the sum falls on the main assets of the concern (land plots, factories, equipment), trademarks and intellectual property.

The Russian company “Technonikol” is among the potential buyers. Chinese and Turkish businessmen are also interested.

Last year, the company earned 20 billion euros, operating profit was 2.7 billion euros.

At the beginning of April, Henkel stated that the company would continue its work in Russia for the time being and would take further measures if necessary. However, everything changed in the few weeks.

Uaposition memo: The “Henkel” company was founded in 1876 and is one of the largest companies in Germany. Among the most famous brands are construction mixtures Ceresit, glue “Moment”, personal hygiene products Schwarzkopf, Syoss, Fa, detergents and cleaning products Persil, and Bref.
