The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has appointed MP from the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko Iryna Gerashchenko First Deputy Rada Speaker.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the relevant decision was supported by 260 MPs out of 355 registered in the session hall.
Following her appointment, a number of MPs welcomed her with flowers, including newly elected Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.
As UaPosition reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday appointed Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Groysman to the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine, having dismissed from this post Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
