Gazprom confirms receipt of $1.65 billion from Naftogaz

Russian monopoly OJSC Gazprom has received $1.65 billion from NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
Spokesperson of the Russian gas holding company Sergei Kupriyanov announced this, RIA Novosti reported.
“We have received $1.65 billion from Naftogaz on our account,” Kupriyanov said.
At first, he said that Gazprom had not yet received this payment, but just a few minutes later he said that money had just been received.
As reported, after seven rounds of gas talks, on October 30, Ukraine, Russia and the European Commission signed a trilateral agreement on gas deliveries. Under this agreement, Ukraine is obliged to pay Russia $3.1 billion for the delivered gas by the end of 2014, and to purchase four billion cubic meters of gas worth $1.5 billion.
Ukraine has already paid part of the costs.
As a result of the signing of gas agreements the gas price for Ukraine is $385 per thousand cubic meters.
