Long-term development projects include cooperation in education, the rule of law, energy and climate sustainability.

“Finland has decided to grant an additional EUR 70 million to development cooperation and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Finland’s long-term development cooperation in Ukraine focuses on education, rule of law, energy and climate resilience.”

As previously reported, Finland has already allocated about 20 million euros to support Ukraine from February 24. In addition to such assistance at the bilateral level, Finland provides assistance to Ukraine together with other EU members – through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, and also joins in arms assistance – at the EU level through the Peacekeeping Fund and on a bilateral basis. Also, about 28,000 Ukrainians applied to Finland for temporary protection.

In early June, the Finnish Ministry of Defense announced new military assistance to Ukraine, without disclosing details for security reasons.
