Explosions were heard at the Belbek military airfield near Sevastopol in Russian-occupied Crimea (south of Ukraine) on the evening of August 18, 2022.

“Explosions are heard at the Belbek military airfield near Sevastopol,” the local Telegram channel reported.
The first explosion in Sevastopol was heard at 10:00 p.m., the second at 10:35 p.m.
Several residents of Sevastopol spoke of “the sounds of explosions and shooting.” All of them live a few kilometers from the Belbek military airfield.
It is noted that more than 40 units of the fighter aircraft of Russian occupiers were at the Belbek military airfield in Sevastopol at the time of the explosions.
A Reuters journalist, citing sources in the occupied Crimea, writes that at least four explosions were heard in the Sevastopol area.

The self-proclaimed governor of Sevastopol said, according to preliminary information, that Russian anti-aircraft forces had downed a Ukrainian drone.
Explosions were also reported around the Ukrainian city of Kerch, on the eastern edge of the Crimean Peninsula.
