Every minute of Russian military at Ukraine’s nuclear plant is a risk of a radiation disaster

“It is necessary to return the station under the proper control of Ukraine and immediately ensure IAEA’s access to the plant. This can be done in a matter of days until the occupiers have brought the situation to an irreversible point. And it’s easier to do it now.”

According to the President, the stoppage of the ZNPP could have led to a radiation accident if the station’s automation and personnel had not worked. He stated that Russia has put Ukraine and all Europeans one step away from a radiation disaster.

The head of the state is convinced of the need to put pressure on Russian occupiers to leave the NPP. He emphasized that the IAEA and other international organizations should act much faster than now. After all, every minute that the Russian military stays at the nuclear plant is a risk of a global radiation disaster.

At the same time, the President assured us that the country’s leadership is doing everything possible to prevent an emergency scenario.
