Europe is changing because of the war in Ukraine: France and Germany are losing their positions, – Ukrainian Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba believes that public opinion in Europe that Germany and France play a crucial role in “European affairs” was displaced for the last three months. Small alliances will play an important role along with the EU.

He said Ukraine was interested in continuing to form small alliances and was currently working with Britain and Poland to develop a tripartite format that had been established shortly before the war.

“Now it has begun to drift towards security.”

According to the Minister, small alliances and the European Union do not contradict each other, because small alliances solve specific tasks.

“Europe is changing a lot now. In three months, the idea that France and Germany play a crucial role in European affairs has been pushed out of public opinion. People have seen that Poland can be a leader, that Britain can be a leader, people have seen that the United States is still the leader in Europe.”

“He believes that the final configuration of Europe as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war is very difficult to predict. “But the general outline can be seen. Of course, there will be the EU, but there will also be small compact alliances that will solve specific problems, and in general, Europe will become more diverse in terms of players,” the Foreign Minister of Ukraine predicted.
