According to the French President, this fund will make it possible to continue to supply defensive weapons.
“We are setting up this special, dedicated fund initially with €100 million to enable Ukraine to buy directly from our manufacturers the equipment it needs most to support its war effort and its resistance to Russian assaults.”
Emmanuel Macron also confirmed that France is negotiating with Denmark to transfer the Caesar howitzers it has purchased to Ukraine.
“There is very clearly a reaffirmed desire to support Ukraine at this moment of the war, to continue to support it with our budgetary support, with the preparation for reconstruction or with our military support,” added the head of France.
